I remember a particular early morning Zoom meeting during the pandemic. I sat there in a nice shirt, but naked down south, as I had just left the bed and hadn't had time to fully dress. During the meeting I had to leave my chair to fetch a memo and coming back to the screen my colleagues and boss (all women) had a good laugh. My boss made sure to include the incident in her farewell speech to me when I retired 😞

You got the middle aged white man part right, but you missed the trick by not mentioning multi-culturalism or how everything is far right and oppressive to minorities.

never been abroad, have absolutely no desire to. As kids we had a week at relatives in the summer, so were never indoctrinated into the ' Oh we must go somewhere sunny, exotic, crowded, overpriced, surrounded by strangers all of whom are intent on having an amazing time in order to justify the whole pointless exercise!, but at least they have bragging rights to last them until their next foreign charade'

Ugh I had this booking holiday nonsense once. Asked in advance for 6 days in January. In December was approved. By January some fk wit booked an essential training course ie...fk all new/had done the content 3 x before. Reminded boss who approved my holiday - uh I'm away then on holiday. Got a lecture on not being a team player had to cancel my holiday. Can tell you by the time I got to the fg training course I was def not a fg team player. Sat staring into space thinking..I'm leaving this job. 6 months later left job. Just fk you!!

I love how every assumption the protagonist has is wrong, and usually for extremely convoluted reasons like "The plane crash didn't happen or rather it will but it won't yet" but when he guesses the Linda from the inscription is Petrov's wife - the reason he's wrong is just that it's plainly a different Linda!

Social media and marketing has raised the bar of expectation far too high. Holidays should just be what he described at the start of the video; quality time with loved ones, in a different place to where you normally are.

I has a lovely week holiday in a beautiful place in Germany this year . I still got too stressed getting ready for the journey !

I find going on holiday a massive faff. Booking the damn thing, planning the journey, negotiating the time off work (and realising that no one will do anything while you’re away), trying to predict what drama will occur at work while you’re off, which will result in mass panic when you get back, packing, driving to the place, and trying to find your accommodation in the dark with no phone signal, unpacking, then, finally 4 days of ‘holiday’ (out of the 7 you booked off work). Then all of that in reverse. Plus the washing. Then the return to work, with hundreds of emails. And finally, the month after of being skint because you dared to eat out once while away.

I remember a colleague coming back from a sun and beach holiday , not sure if it had been in Spain or in Greece ! I had no money for holiday but I sure didn’t feel envious of that kind of holiday !

The few times I’ve been on holiday, I’ve mostly enjoyed them! I think it’s because I actually try to respect the places I’m going to and have family who do the same, lmao (definitely got lucky for the most part). However, I’ve been mostly staying in the UK these days and there’s some lovely places here that I can just drive to for days out, so less stress all round.

Living in UK must be a nightmare... Normally it is not like that.
